PK50 O-coté montagne: Bain du Vaima. Avant l'arrivée au restaurant du musée Gauguin, la rivière Vaima, signalée par le petit pont qui la franchit, est une résurgence. En remontant le cours d'eau sur 50m, on atteint une sorte de vasque semblable à une source où l'eau bouillonne en sortant du sol. C'est le bain Vaima . L'eau y est claire et fraiche.

PK50.5 O-Restaurant du musée Gauguin. Cadre agréable en bordure du lagon, vue sur la presqu'ile de Tairapu. Un ponton permet d'accéder à un enclos grillagé où vous pourrez voir et nourrir d'immenses carangues et des requins de lagon.

PK51 O- Complexe formé par le jardin botanique et le musée Gauguin. Deux parking sont aménagés. Le jardin botanique a été fondé par Harrison Smith. La plupard des espèces végé tales y ont été introduites.Une heure à une heure et demi sont necessaires pour la visite. Une très belle forêt de Mape (inocarpus fagiferus) est à ne pas manquer durant votre visite, ainsi que des touffes de bambous géants, poinsettia, rose de colombie, lotus, etc... L'attraction principale du jardin est la présence de deux tortues des iles galapagos. Ces animaux placides adorent poser pour les photographes.
Le musée Gauguin est consacré à la vie et à l'oeuvre de Paul Gauguin. Plusieurs salles évoquent les voyages de Gauguin à travers le monde. Dans les jardins du musée ont été installés deux grands tiki, provenant de l'ile de Raivavae-iles australes- Les polynésiens accordent souvent aux pierres sacrées des marae et aux tiki des vertus surnaturelles.

PK52 O-Village de Papeari, village vert aux jardins multicolores. De nombreuses boutiques , le long de la route, vendent des ramboutans, pamplemousse et autres fruits.

PK50 O-mountain side: The Vaima bath. Take a pleasant stroll through these public siteand discover a sparkling spring water at the end of the short path.

PK50.5 O-The Gauguin museum restaurant is the most popular luncheon choice restaurant of the west coast. This very spacious restaurant and bar is built over the lagoon. you can access , by a wodden deck, to a fish park, with giant blue trevally and lagoon sharks.

PK51 O-The botanical garden and the the Gauguin museum. Stroll through the 340 acres of the botanical garden. You will see hundreds of trees, shrubs, plants and flowersgathered from tropical regions throughout the world by Harrison Smith, who was an american physics teacher who escaped to the south seas in 1919 and created his own garden of eden in tahiti. The most impressive part of this park is a natural forest of tahitian Mape trees (inocarpus fagiferus). A main attraction in this garden are two huge land turtles, were brought to tahiti from the Galapagos islands. These pets placidly pose for photographs.
Sharing the same parking is the Paul Gauguin museum, which is open daily. This is a memorial to the late french artist, with only few original carving and voodcuts, all paintings are reproductions. Three ancients stone tiki from the Raivavae island-autral archipelago- stand in the garden surrounding the museum. you have to get an entrace fee for each visit.

PK52 O- the village of Papeari. all along the main road you have a lot of small local style shop who sale local fruit and vegetables ( Rambutane, grapefruit, etc ....)
